I miss Cheerleading!

Tomorrow's Cheerobics 2009.

Watching videos of D'zest 07/08. Brings back cheerful yet painful memories. As I scrolled & read comments, I was drowned in countless flashbacks. Starting from the first time I went for practice, the first 'elevator' I did. & on to my first performance as a cheerleader (Dunearnite 06). & my first (& best ever) nationals. My coaches, whom I really wish to chance upon tomorrow. In 07, we left without a trophy, but with an impact. We may no have won the hearts of the judges, butI'm pretty sure we won the hearts & warm smiles of the public. My heart tingled as I read comments like 'D'zest should've won hands down. They've the awesome-st pyramids.' I couldnt get over the fact that D'zest didnt win Cheerobics 07. I was left, in that state shock, for several months. Not even knowing if that effed up principal of mine would allow us to continue cheering. It was only in Jan 08 when we got news that D'zest will go for nationals again. With a mere 4 months to crash-practice, we were thankful that Magnum's then coach, Lenny, took up the offer to train us even though he already had Magnum to tie him down with. With fought all the way, & though we did not emerge victorious, we had an experience no one else would've gained in their lifetime. However, D'zest was forced to leave the cheer scene, probably forvever.... Still, we'll never forget those who groomed us, believed in us & saw us as champions.

I wish every single squad whose competing in tomorrow's Cheerobics extreme luck. Please dont take for granted the fact that you still can cheer. ;)

Of course, I hope Magnum wins ;D Magnum, all the way!

xoxo.

  1. Hello Vanessaxo. Cheer up. You can still join cheerleading next year when you get into polytechnics or JCs. Cheers! :)

  2. Thanks! But cheer is not only about the passion. Yes, having the passion is important. But you must have the time & commitment. & it must always your top priority. Which I find at this point of life is not easy. Cheers, ;D

  5. I dont have the time cause if I can make it to Banking & Finance in poly, it's gonna be tight. & given the past experience I had w cheer & also training with Magnum Force, I realised cheer sure takes alot alot of time. & if I am unsure of my commitment, i shouldnt join cause it will just bring the whole squad down.

  15. passion is nothing if you do not give it direction. if this is what you really want, then you will fight for it. don't give yourself reasons for not being able to cheer unless the cheerleader in you is no longer present. your life is not a sad story. you are not a sad story. learn to pick yourself up and strive forward!
